An America near the brink!

With an aggregate deficit approaching 52 trillion dollars between government and corporate debt, and some 68 cents of every dollar being used to service the debt, it is inconceivable to me that this economy can survive long term. When the debt exceeds 200 to 300 percent of GDP, it is not hard to see that in point of fact, GDP is actually being "funded" by the deficit spending vs. real growth.

In the 1960s, then President John F. Kennedy supported the innovative and entrepreneurial America that created industry, technology, Project Apollo which put men on the moon, the Space Shuttle Program, new technology in medicine, flight and most other disciplines. College enrollments were on the rise, and a smarter, well educated society was evolving. And then we "tripped."

A society of producers has been commandeered by a society of takers, a well educated and smarter society has been traded away for a society of selfish interest and social promotion, and the American psyche has been consumed by the force of "political correctness" and mediocrity in the name of some sort of "equality" abstraction and sense of consensus.

The Romans, the Greeks, the Carthaginians and now the Americans, share a common fate ... we just won't learn from history!

Polish People cut to the heart yet again!

If there is a society and culture that has been tried and tested again and again, it is the Polish people. Yet all of the hardships memorialized throughout history have shown the resilience and determination of the Polish people, cut to the heart again by tragedy this morning.

God bless the heart of Poland ...

Why the press continues to attack the Catholics

Its Easter week, Easter Saturday to be specific, and the press has been in their typical "biased" feeding frenzy all week. Maybe its that their apparent bias is driven by the "non-Christian" makeup of the majority of the press, maybe its that they're just so pissed off about the Obama administration not caving in to Israel's prime minister during a recent visit to the White House, or maybe its as simple as they can't stand the idea that they haven't been able to destroy an institution that has thrived for over 2,000 years, despite their best efforts. Whichever, it seems clear to most with any sense of objectivity, that the aggregate media (not every outlet) is determined to brand and spin the Catholics (after all its the people that make up the church, not the buildings and paintings and such) in a context of their own creation.

To be sure, if the same vigor were unleashed against the Muslims or the Jews, multiple organizations and advocacy groups would be marching in the streets; but alas, its only the Catholics ... again. Imagine such a hard driven focus of the seemingly horrific acts of a few, defining the whole. Its stereotypical of the bias against the blacks being all the same, the Muslims being all the same, the military, the police ... you get the idea. Wow ... imagine ... an organization (Catholic Church) that has all pedophiles, all co-conspirators, all "good ole boys" covering up the crimes, all evil intentions to deceive, to hide, to bury the truth ... and then look at the history of all of the good that this organization has done since its inception ... hospitals, charities, schools, emergency support groups, to name only a few. Does it not seem that the attacks are a bit over the top? Even for such a biased media?

Give me a break ... get a life, get laid, get a drink ... do whatever it takes to keep you sane ... but give up media ... you're to biased to be believed!

Albanian Elections

We should know today if the "socialists" or the "democrats" win. Since the days of the dictator, Albania has and continues to present the last great frontier ... for Europe, for tourism, for ecocomic opportunity, and indeed for Capitalism and what it will likely become.

From the waters and beaches of Sarande, to the capital in Tirana, those who have lived the past, and those who have simply read of the past, come face to face in an election very much akin to the recent election in the United States. A naive albeit populist view against one tempered by first hand knowledge of the past, this election is IMPORTANT!

While speedy incorporation into the EU hangs in the balance, there is an even greater series of issues ... those related to the above written.

Votes matter! Your vote counts! Your continued knowledge and education process drives the very future of the country. Be enlightened; be informed; be part of a positive process for wise change, not simply change itself.
